Welcome back summoners!, for Part 2 of „30 Seconds Until Minions Spawn”, the series that covers the main aspects of League of Legends creation, rise to fame J and some basic gameplay elemets until we get into the advanced strategies for each champion or situation.
Ok, on the count to 3!, 3, 2, 1, Minions Have Spawned!!
In the end of Part 1, we discussed about the game modes available. Now let’s make o short presentation for each.
In Tutorial Mode, new players can acomodate with the game’s controls and basic mechanics. You can understand the main objective/s and can try different skills before going online. The game is a private offline and can also be used to see new champions at work. Pro players play tutorials sometimes J :trollin: hehe.
Custom Mode allows players to manually make game sessions that other players may join. You can add a password to this game and can also add computer controlled AI bots. Spectator mode is also available to this game type.
Co-Op vs AI is only for the Summoner’s Rift map and is a 5 human team vs a 5 AI bot team. Players can choose the difficulty for this game mode.
The Normal Mode is the mode where players queue themselves to the auto MM (match making function). You can join MM Normal games solo, or with a team. The server tries to make a perfectly balance match for you or your team, so that the winning chance is 50% - 50%. The players are rated with an ELO, that is HIDDEN (muhahahaJ). The ELO is based on the results players get in Normal matches. In the public profile only the number of wins is shown. This feature was later copied by StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty and other online competitive games.
...and YES the RANKED MODE BABY! YAW I AM THE TERMINATOR, I WILL KILL YOU ALL! But right now i can’t bcuz i’m the governor of CALIFORNIA! I AM THOR FROM STARCRAFT 2! Aaah i mean, I AM ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER! Oops ^_^ sorry summoners! Yes, the ranked matches! The account you make FREE for League of Legends, levels up as you win games. You also win some points when you lose but not so much. The MAX level for your account is 30. When you reach MAX level, you can queue up for ranked matches. This mode is similar to Normal Mode, but you have two main differences between the modes. Numero Uno: you can ban champions. 3 per team. Which means no players may play them (6 in total for the curent match/game). And second, there will be no mirrors. So only one person on the MAP, may play a specific champion (one Brand, only one Alistar and just ONE AKALI J). Also the ELO is visible and calculated based on the players performance in RANKED GAMES only. The top players and top teams have a chance to compete for TONS of $$$ at the end of the Ranked Season. Season 2 just started last month, NOV 2011.
ATM, there are 3 main maps for LoL. The best one, the main one, the one mostly used in pro play and tournament settings, the alpha and the omega of LoL J is...: the Summoner’s Rift J my dear Summoners J. This is a 5v5 map, that resembles the old DotA map, but has a ton of new features and places. The map is pretty big and has 3 lanes of creeps and towers. The Twisted Treeline is a 3v3 map. Smaller and with the „IN YO FACE” feeling. It has 2 lanes and less forest buffs. The newest League of Legends map is the Crystal Scar. The map is made for the DOMINION game MODE. It’s a 5v5 map that has a new set of rules (*we will discuss DOMINION and CS map in a latter post*).
This is it for Part 2 of the „30 Seconds Until Minions Spawn” series! Cya next time for Part 3 + other LoL stuff you LoL lovers J LoL!
Till’ next time, have a cookie!
Much Love!
