It's been a busy week in eSports for League of Legends! GEGE ^_^! The WCG 2011 are here, the German ESL Pro Series was a great tournament and the North American IEM Kiev Qualifier had some crazy surprises! And speaking of WCG 2011, the best is yet to come!
Let's start with the North American IEM Kiev Qualifier. The IEM European Championship in Ukraine, will take place from january 20, until january 23, 2012 in the CyberSpor Arena at Getmana Street 13 in Kiev. Top players will battle out for serious money and reputation! LoL will be a main event, alongside StarCraft 2 and CS 1.6. So who will represent North America in Kiev ? Let's find out!
This was the last opportunity to qualify for the World Championship in Hannover, Germany, so more was on the line! The competition was tough! ROCK SOLID BABY! Like a 5K HP J Volibear that tough!
The last 8 teams that were competing, put on a great show and the top 3 got a spot for Kiev!
The SHOKAAA was the blitzkrieg elimination of team CLG. They got knocked out early, with defeats against both v8 eSports and Curse Gaming. The good part for them was that they've already qualified for the WC in Hannover, Germany. Udyr, udyr, udyr...what was that HotShotGG??
Epik Gaming also had a nice elimination J! They forfeit their first round due to an unprepared player! Westrice was at his girlfriend's house LOOOL and didn't have his computer OMG! Then Salce preferred to play volleyball with some girls during the LOSER's BRACKET series JJ against Goose. The sub was bad and there you have it! The MLG Providence runners-up were eliminated in glorious fashion.
Digitas beat Goose and v8 to qualify and were joined by Team SoloMid who beat Complexity and Curse Gaming. TSM continue their great run after winning the MLG!
Goose made it back all the way from loser's bracket and clinched a spot for Kiev. It was hard for Goose, but after 15 games, they secured the last spot to represent NA in Ukraine.
The 8 teams that will be duelling, "en Garde", in Kiev are: TSM, Goose and Curse from NA. White Lotus (for Ukraine), mTw, Team aAa, Empire and Invictus Gaming (representing China).
Poor Udyr...
The ESL Pro Series Finals was held live in Koln (Cologne), Germany. The Final was a heat to heat titanic battle between Acer and Alternate. After a great series of matches Team Alternate won the big prize! Acer will be at WCG, so it's their big chance to show people that they are still the best team in Germany! PANZER DETECTED J!
WCG 2011 is here and top teams are competing for the NO. 1 SPOT! The first prize of 25.000 $$ and international RESPECT will pump up the teams to fight till the last breath!
